Description
Alan Hovhaness (1911-2000) was a highly productive 20th-century composer. Growing up on Blossom Street in Arlington fostered his love for classical music, influenced by the cultural diversity of his home and neighborhood. This passion led him to compose music that was even performed at Arlington High School. Hovhaness's creative spark resulted in a vast collection of over 70 symphonies and 500 other musical compositions. His music gained international recognition, being performed at prestigious global venues, symphony halls around the globe, and the BBC. The White House recognized him as one of the top five global composers.
