"Couples in Jazz": the 9th Annual Arlington Jazz Festival, this year presented virtually by Arlington Jazz, who has scheduled a series of special online concerts, presented over a 4-day stretch. Performed by musical couples, sheltering in place together, continuing their love of playing, and more importantly, exploring new ways of collaborating with each other while in place. They are enthusiastic about sharing their work within this reimagined up close and personal virtual festival setting.

The "Couples in Jazz" concerts will run from May 28-31, with each streaming live on Arlington Jazz's facebook page, starting at 8:00 pm each night and running for approximately 30 minutes. Further background information:

The nonprofit Arlington Jazz Festival is coordinated with assistance from Arlington-based Morningside Music Studio (morningsidemusicstudio.com) under the direction of Dan Fox an Arlington resident, who is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator. The Festival itself has been held annually in Arlington since 2012, usually in the month of April to recognize Jazz Appreciation Month in the U.S., as well as timing the week to coincide with Boston's Jazz Week and International Jazz Day. This year, Festival plans needed to be adjusted, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2018, the Arlington Jazz Festival has also embarked on presenting a series of additional workshops and concerts throughout the year. The 2020 Arlington Jazz Festival is funded in part by the Arlington Cultural Council, a local agency that is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. arlingtonjazz.org
