Grab your love beads and tie-dyed shirts and help the Monkees celebrate the 50th anniversary of their only movie, "Head." They also released an album with the same title. Micky Dolenz, the drummer for the Monkees, will be at the showing at 6:30 July 6 at the Regent Theatre, 7 Medford St., in Arlington. Proceeds from the showing and silent and live auctions will benefit the Cystic Dreams Fund, a nonprofit organization. Auction items include tickets for sporting events, such as the Red Sox and Celtics; live entertainment, such as Blue Man Group; and various local day trips, such as a brunch cruise on the Odyssey. The Monkees television show ran from 1966-68. "Head" features cameos by stars such as Annette Funicello, Victor Mature and Frank Zappa. It was written by Jack Nicholson and Bob Rafelson. The Cystic Dreams Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, supports individuals and families impacted by the huge costs cystic fibrosis generate. Costs may include medicine co-pays, transplant-disagreements and uninsured medical equipment.
