Spooky witches, glowing jack-o-lanterns, and scary ghosts will come alive as Arlington residents decorate 55 designated storefront windows in 25 Heights businesses on Saturday, October 1, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Rain date, Sunday, October 2, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Paint a window by yourself or grab your friend or parent and paint one window together. All windows must have a family-friendly Halloween theme.
A registration link will be activated on this page on Saturday, September 10. Registration will be open through Saturday, September 24 but will close earlier if all spaces are filled. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is guaranteed to the first 55 entries.
A $25 registration fee covers paint supplies purchased locally (an assortment of paint brushes and seven acrylic paints in a pre-selected color palette, which will be available to painters on the day of the event).
After the registration closing date, painters will be emailed their window assignments, rules and information flyer, and a list of window painting supplies and tips.
Eligibility: Anyone who resides in Arlington or attends school in Arlington is eligible to participate in this event. Painters under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The paintings will remain on display throughout the month of October, in time for the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Annual Heights Halloween Stroll on Friday, October 28, from 3-5 pm.
Organized by the Arlington Heights Community Association, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture.
