Update: This event is now FULL.
Spooky witches, glowing jack-o-lanterns, and scary ghosts will come alive as Arlington residents decorate over 60 designated storefront windows in 25 Heights businesses on Saturday, September 30th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Rain date, Sunday, October 1st, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Paint a window by yourself or grab your friend or parent and paint one window together. All windows must have a family-friendly Halloween theme.
A registration link will be activated on this page on Saturday, September 9th. Registration will be open through Saturday, September 23rd but will close earlier if all spaces are filled.
Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is guaranteed to the first 60 entries.
A $25 registration fee covers paint supplies purchased locally (an assortment of paint brushes and seven acrylic paints in a pre-selected color palette, which will be available to painters on the day of the event).
After the registration closing date, painters will be emailed their window assignments, rules and information flyer, and a list of window painting supplies and tips.
Eligibility: Anyone who resides in Arlington or attends school in Arlington is eligible to participate in this event. Painters under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The paintings will remain on display throughout the month of October, in time for the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Annual Heights Halloween Stroll on Friday, October 27th, from 3-5 pm.
Organized by the Arlington Heights Community Association, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture.
The Arlington Heights Community Association (AHCA) is a group of Heights business owners, residents, and non-profits who meet monthly to address local issues and concerns, support beautification projects and organize public events such as seasonal window paintings, holiday stroll and spring festival. Meetings take place on the third Thursday of every month.
