Free Virtual Program
Free Virtual Program
Join Cyrus Dallin Art Museum director and curator Heather Leavell for a discussion of the history of Menotomy Hunter, Massasoit Ousamequin, and Appeal to the Great Spirit in the context of Dallin's work as an Indigenous rights activist and educator. Learn about Dallin's close, collaborative relationships with Indigenous leaders and non-Native activists, and the positive impacts of their work together. Leavell will also discuss what allies today might learn from Dallin's example. This program is cosponsored by the Newton Free Library, Historic Newton, and the Newton Art Association.
